The Nutcracker Toledo reviews
Worst Nutcracker performance ever
There were no redeeming qualities about this performance whatsoever, except perhaps the venue. I can understand the economics of not having a live orchestra, but if you are going to do that, you must make up for it with phenomenal dancing, extraordinary sets, etc. The production value here was so poor in every respect. The dancers made missteps and were not in sync. The sets were dull and costumes mundane. The sound was too low, so all you could hear was the thump thump of the dancers on stage. In addition, the ushers allowed mobs of people in after the performance had started.... we're talking 30 minutes in and 30 people would walk in and force everyone to stand up to get to their seats.
Overall, this was a complete ripoff. I've seen community productions better than this. We left at intermission, it was so bad.
